Amy Pearce-Hayden, ERYT 500, Co-Owner & Founder of TANTRA, Director RajaHatha School of Yoga
Amy’s formal study of yoga began in 1995 with Iyengar Master, Gabriel Halpern. While working toward her BFA at DePaul University’s Conservatory Professional Theatre School (Chicago), yoga was included in their curriculum and her deeper studies continued. After relocating to NYC in 1997, she received her first yoga certification and went on to open her own school in 2003 where today she continues to direct both 200 & 500 hour Yoga Alliance recognized teacher training programs in her RajaHatha lineage, now in Madison.

In 1992 Amy began studying the Yoga Sutras on her own, and would later further her studies with Rolf Sovik and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait of the Himalayan Institute during the last decade. The Sutras became an integral focus and she would eventually co-author her first book Living the Sutras, which was published in 2018, which offers an off-the-mat guide to implementing the ancient wisdom of the Sutras.

As a recognized International yoga teacher, she is sought out for her expertise in linking classical yoga with modern living. She has been a regular contributor to Yoga International Magazine, as both a cover model and creator of on-line yoga classes for them. She specializes in addiction, trauma therapy, and whole-family living. Her teaching and lifestyle is compassionate, practical, and personally authentic. During the summers of 2013 and 2014 she co-hosted the Times Square Summer Solstice “Mind over Matter” event with 10,000 yogis practicing in the heart of New York and lead practice in the heart of the city for the 2018 Solstice.
