Ascend is a wellness lifestyle brand celebrating the things that make life so rich: music, art, yoga, mindfulness, family, community, health, nature and all of the palpable joys of this world.  Through its wellness center, single-day events and weekend festivals, Ascend is realizing the holistic vision of its founder Melia Marzollo.

Ascend produces multiple events annually, from one-day events to weekend-long yoga and music festivals.  The beginnings of the Ascend Festival (formerly known as MAYfest) can be traced to the Catskill Chill Music Festival.  It was here that Melia developed a Wellness Village and yoga program, the popularity of which provided inspiration for what is now the Ascend Festival which combines a music festival “buzz” with the sacred vibrations of yoga and meditative practices.
“It combines everything I’m so passionate about,” says Melia. “Yoga, music, art, wellness and the community that’s growing from these interests, it just inspires me to dream of bigger and better things for Ascend.”
Ascend’s mission is to help you elevate your life.  Its wellness center offers daily yoga and pilates classes for all levels and practices.  Ascend also provides access to the healing arts, offering everything from acupuncture, Thai massage and meditation to energy healing, Reiki and body rolling.
The ground floor of Ascend’s wellness center is home to two local enterprises: The Cold Spring Apothecary, a health and beauty company with medicinally-focused and remedy-based products, and The Pantry, a coffee roaster and bottler of healthy juices, elixirs and sparkling teas.
Melia first began teaching yoga, pilates and meditation in an old converted barn with a wood stove.  In 2013, she claimed a building and scared space for Ascend’s home, located in the historic village of Cold Spring, NY in the Hudson Valley.
For 67 years, in its prior life, the building (circa 1864) served as a Masonic Lodge.  Its top floor, where Ascend’s yoga classes are held, is a large and serene space. Flooded with light, the room boasts original floorboards more than 150 years old and a fantastically high, 18-foot ceiling painted a sky-like cerulean blue.  It’s an inspiring space for an inspiring brand and a fitting environment in which to elevate one’s mind, body and spirit.
